Adromischus cooperi originates from mountainous areas of South Africa, typically found in granite rock crevices under partial shade. It exhibits slow, polycarpic growth with infrequent flowering, notable within its genus for leaves featuring slightly serrated edges and a rough texture. Leaves thick, ovate-spatulate, 3-5 cm long, arranged in compact rosettes; green-gray coloration with reddish tips intensified by water stress or strong light exposure.
