Native to the mountainous areas of South Africa, Adromischus schoenlandii inhabits granite rock outcrops under partial sun. It is a slow-growing, polycarpic species with minimal flowering, notable within its genus for thick, broad leaves with irregular edges. Spatulate leaves, 8-12 mm thick, arranged in loose rosettes; green-grey with violet hues in winter. Leaf size ranges 3-5 cm, with slightly serrated margins.
Partial sun exposure, avoiding direct midday sun. Water only during spring-summer, allowing substrate to dry completely between irrigations. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content for drainage. Minimum temperature 5°C; susceptible to waterlogging.
