Aloe descoingsii is native to Madagascar, inhabiting low-altitude limestone rocky slopes. It is a slow-growing, polycarpic succulent with spineless leaves, an unusual trait within Aloe genus. It thrives in microhabitats featuring high drainage and minimal organic matter. Leaves linear, 5-7 cm long, arranged in a compact rosette with entire margins and smooth surface. Color ranges from gray-green to violet hues under drought stress or high light exposure.
Full sun to bright partial shade exposure. Watering minimal from autumn to spring, increased in summer only if substrate is dry. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content, neutral pH. Minimum temperature 8°C; prone to damage from prolonged waterlogging.
