Native to the rocky granite slopes of South African coasts, Aloe striata is a winter-growing, polycarpic succulent. It notably lacks marginal spines, diverging from typical Aloe species. Its adaptation to coastal microhabitats is a key taxonomic feature. Leaves linear-lanceolate, 3-5 cm wide, arranged in an open rosette up to 40 cm long. Smooth surface, spineless margins, gray-green color with reddish hues during winter.
Place in full sun or bright partial shade. Water exclusively during winter growth, avoiding waterlogging; substrate must contain at least 70% mineral drainage. Minimum temperature 5°C; susceptible to rot from excess moisture.
