Native to the Arabian Peninsula, Aloe vera thrives on sandy, rocky soils in subtropical climates. It is a perennial species with a winter growth cycle and summer flowering, distinguished within the genus by the total lack of marginal spines on its leaves. Leaves linear-spatulate, 30-50 cm long, arranged in an open rosette. Green-grey color with silvery hues in winter, smooth surface without spines.
Place in full direct sunlight; water exclusively during winter, avoiding waterlogging. Substrate with at least 70% mineral drainage component. Minimum temperature 10°C; root rot risk from overwatering.
