Astrophytum myriostigma nudum is native to Mexico, typically found on calcareous soils and volcanic rock outcrops. It is unique within the genus for lacking any trichomes. The species is monocarpic, slow-growing, with a globose stem featuring 3 to 5 ribs. Stem globose, 5-12 cm diameter, with 3-5 distinct ribs, smooth surface lacking trichomes. Uniform light green coloration without marked seasonal changes.
Full direct sunlight for a minimum of 6 hours daily. Watering restricted to active spring growth, preventing waterlogging. Substrate composed of at least 70% mineral, well-draining material. Minimum temperature 5°C; root rot susceptibility under excessive moisture.
