Astrophytum myriostigma is native to the rocky highlands of central Mexico, growing predominantly on calcareous, well-drained substrates. It exhibits slow growth and is monocarpic, notably lacking spines, which distinguishes it within the Astrophytum genus. Globose to slightly columnar body with 3-5 distinct ribs. Reaches up to 20 cm in diameter. Grey-green epidermis with regularly spaced white woolly areoles, completely spineless.
Provide full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Water exclusively during active growth, preventing water stagnation. Use substrate with at least 70% mineral content, neutral pH. Minimum temperature around 5°C; prone to root rot if overwatered.
