Native to eastern Mexico, Coleocephalocereus goebelianus inhabits limestone rocky slopes. This slow-growing, clumping columnar cactus is polycarpic. It is distinguished within the genus by densely woolly areoles and longer, slender spines compared to related species. Cylindrical stems, 2-3 cm diameter, densely clustered. Radial spines slender, 1-3 cm, white-yellowish. Woolly areoles 5-6 mm diameter. Dark green stems with bluish hues under full sun.
Full direct sunlight exposure. Water sparingly from October to March, increase frequency in summer. Substrate with minimum 70% mineral content, high drainage. Minimum temperature 8°C. Prolonged waterlogging causes root rot; ensure complete drying.
