Native to South Africa, Crassula capitella 'Star' inhabits sandy slopes and granite outcrops. It exhibits a polycarpic growth cycle during summer to autumn. Unlike other Crassulas, it lacks spines entirely and tolerates partial shade conditions. Leaves linear-lanceolate arranged in open rosettes, 3-5 cm long, with entire margins. Color shifts from pale green to intense red under partial shade and water stress.
Partial shade exposure; reduced watering from autumn to spring, increased in summer. Substrate with minimum 70% mineral content. Minimum temperature 41°F (5°C). Sensitive to prolonged waterlogging.
