Native to South Africa, Crassula capitella thyrsiflora inhabits rocky slopes and sandy soils. It is a perennial polycarpic species. Unique within its genus, it shifts leaf coloration from green to intense red under high light stress. Linear leaves, 3-5 cm long, arranged in open, slightly spiral rosettes. Light green color with red margins intensifying during summer or high light exposure.
Partial shade with minimum 4 hours direct sun. Reduced watering in winter, increased in summer. Substrate at least 70% mineral, well-drained. Minimum temperature 5°C. Prevent water stagnation to avoid root rot.
