Native to the mountainous areas of South Africa, Crassula ericoides inhabits rocky slopes with sandy, well-drained soils. It is a polycarpic species with erect stems exceeding 30 cm. Uniquely within its genus, it lacks any form of spines. Leaves linear, 15-25 mm long, compactly and spirally arranged on branches. Intense green color with yellow-brown hues under full summer sun exposure.
Exposure from full sun to partial shade. Reduced watering from autumn to spring, increased in summer. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content. Minimum temperature 5°C; sensitive to prolonged waterlogging.
