Crassula ovata (Miller) Druce is native to South Africa and Mozambique, typically found in rocky, well-drained soils at low altitudes. This succulent, woody shrub is polycarpic and produces corymb inflorescences of small white to pale pink flowers on mature plants. Historically known as Crassula argentea. Shrubby plant with spreading habit, thick oval leaves bright green, entire margins, smooth surface often with slight apical thickening. Height up to 1.5 m. Lacks spines and shows woody branching.

Requires full sun or bright partial shade, well-drained substrate with mineral content. Water only when substrate is dry, avoid waterlogging. Minimum temperatures above 5 °C; sensitive to frost.
