Crassula picturata originates from coastal areas of South Africa, commonly found on rocky slopes with sandy, well-drained soils. It is a polycarpic species that flowers seasonally under partial shade. Unique within its genus for lacking any spines and tolerating minimal water supply. Leaves spatulate, 2-3 cm long, arranged in loose rosettes; gray-green coloration with faint reddish margins under water stress. Upright stems bear clustered small white flowers.
Place in partial shade with filtered light; reduce watering from autumn to spring, slight increase in summer. Use substrate with minimum 70% mineral content. Minimum temperature 5°C; avoid water stagnation to prevent root rot.
