Delosperma echinatum originates from South Africa, typically found on sandy and gravelly soils. It is a clump-forming polycarpic species. Unique within its genus, it features leaves densely covered with stiff spines. Leaves cylindrical, 1-2 cm long, arranged in dense rosettes, covered with rigid spines 2-3 mm in length. Green-gray with silvery reflections, darkening during winter.
Requires full sun exposure for at least 6 hours. Water only during active growth, avoiding waterlogging. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content. Minimum temperature 5°C. Susceptible to root rot from excess moisture.
