Native to central Mexican rocky limestone slopes at 1500-2200 m elevation, Echeveria 'Black Knight' forms persistent, slowly expanding rosettes. It is a polycarpic species notable for its deep anthocyanin pigmentation, which intensifies under high solar irradiance, distinguishing it within the genus. Compact rosettes 8-12 cm diameter, spatulate leaves with acute apex, 4-6 cm long, smooth surface. Intense black-violet coloration, darkening under full sun and centrally within the rosette.
Requires full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Water sparingly during winter; increase frequency during active growth. Substrate composed of at least 70% well-draining mineral components. Minimum temperature 5 °C. Susceptible to rot from waterlogging.
