Echeveria blu hails from rocky slopes in central Mexico at elevations between 1500 and 2500 meters. It exhibits a cespitose, polycarpic growth with persistent rosettes. Its waxy leaf surface reduces transpiration, a distinctive trait within the Echeveria genus. Spatulate leaves 3-5 cm wide arranged in a compact rosette. Blue-gray coloration with violet hues during winter; matte surface due to waxy pruina.
Full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Water sparingly from spring to late summer; substrate with 70% inorganic content. Minimum temperature 5°C; prolonged waterlogging causes rot.
