Echeveria madiba originates from the granite outcrops of eastern South Africa. It grows on south-facing slopes with rapid drainage. This species is polycarpic with clumping growth, exhibiting slow development and a later spring flowering than other genus members. Leaves spatulate, 3-4 cm wide, arranged in a compact rosette with slightly undulated margins. Grey-green coloration with pinkish tips intensified under thermal or light stress.
Requires full direct sunlight for a minimum of 6 hours daily. Watering limited to spring and autumn, avoiding waterlogging. Substrate composed of at least 70% mineral content (pumice preferred). Minimum temperature 5 °C. Root rot risk from excess moisture.
