Echeveria mina originates from rocky slopes in central Mexico, favoring volcanic substrates with rapid drainage. It is a polycarpic species exhibiting tufted growth, with a spring-summer growth cycle and pronounced winter dormancy. Unique within its genus for its tolerance to extremely poor substrates and prolific basal offset production. Leaves spatulate, 4-6 cm long, arranged in a compact rosette with slightly acute tips. Gray-blue coloration with pinkish hues under water stress and low temperatures.
Exposure to full morning sun, partial shade in the afternoon. Reduced watering from October to March, substrate containing at least 70% pumice or scoria. Minimum temperature 5°C; prolonged waterlogging induces root rot.
