Echeveria pulvinata is native to the mountainous regions of Mexico, thriving on calcareous rocky slopes between 1500 and 2500 meters elevation. It exhibits a clumping, polycarpic growth habit and is characterized by a dense pubescence uncommon within the Echeveria genus. Leaves spatulate, 4-6 cm long, arranged in a tight rosette; surface covered with white woolly hairs giving a gray-green hue, margins intensify to reddish tones during winter.
Requires morning direct sunlight, partial shade in afternoon. Water sparingly from October to March; substrate with minimum 70% coarse sand and pumice. Minimum temperature 5 °C. Prolonged waterlogging causes root rot.
