Echeveria sp. is native to Mexico, typically found on rocky slopes with volcanic substrates offering high drainage. It exhibits a polycarpic growth pattern with tufted rosettes and seasonal flowering in spring. Certain populations display uncommon adaptive color variations within the genus. Leaves spatulate, 3-5 cm wide, arranged in a compact rosette with slightly crenate margins. Green-gray coloration with reddish tips intensified under water stress and high light exposure.
Full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Water sparingly in winter; increase frequency in summer only after substrate is fully dry. Substrate should contain at least 70% volcanic mineral content. Minimum temperature 5°C. Highly prone to root rot if waterlogged.
