Echinopsis eyriesii crestato originates from Bolivian mountainous calcareous slopes at 1500-2500 m elevation. The crested mutation alters apical growth from cylindrical to fan-shaped, with a polycarpic life cycle typical of the species. Crested stem 5-8 cm wide, fan-shaped growth with irregular ribs; light green epidermis with brown speckles, minimal seasonal color variation.
Exposure to direct morning sun, afternoon shade; watering limited to active spring-summer growth; substrate with 70% mineral content including limestone; minimum temperature 5°C; prone to damage from prolonged waterlogging.
