euphorbia leucodendron crestata

Native to the southeastern coast of Madagascar, it inhabits limestone rocky slopes. It is a slow-growing polycarpic species. The crested form is a rare fasciation mutation altering apical growth, producing a fan-shaped branching structure unique within Euphorbia leucodendron. Succulent fasciated stems, 3-5 cm wide, with undulate crests arranged fan-like. Grey-green color with brownish tips, intensified under strong light. Height up to 40 cm in cultivation.

Full direct sun exposure at least 6 hours/day. Watering limited to spring-summer, avoiding waterlogging. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content (pumice, lapilli). Minimum temperature 10°C. Susceptible to root rot from excess moisture.
