Euphorbia pugniformis crestata originates from limestone outcrops in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico. It thrives on thin, well-drained soils, exhibiting a polycarpic growth habit. The crested form is a rare mutation within the genus, characterized by fasciated growth instead of a single columnar stem. Crested stems up to 8 cm diameter, segmented and fasciated, spineless. Grey-green color with bluish hues enhanced by full sun. Average height 20-30 cm, exhibiting horizontally spreading growth.
Full direct sun exposure; watering restricted from spring to autumn, halted in winter. Substrate with minimum 70% mineral content (pumice, coarse sand). Minimum temperature 10°C. Sensitive to waterlogging; avoid excessive irrigation.
