Native to the coastal areas of South Africa, Euphoria fruticosa inermis inhabits calcareous rocky slopes. It is a polycarpic shrub with spineless cylindrical branches, an unusual trait within the Euphoria genus. Cylindrical stems 3-5 mm diameter, arranged loosely. Leaves absent or reduced to small bracts. Green-gray coloration with silvery hues, intensified under strong sunlight.
Full direct sunlight exposure. Watering restricted to spring and autumn, preventing waterlogging. Substrate with minimum 70% calcareous mineral content. Minimum temperature 5°C. Root rot susceptibility under excessive moisture.
