Hatiora salicornioides originates from the humid montane forests of southeastern Brazil, typically growing epiphytically on tree trunks. It is a polycarpic species with articulated, segmented stems lacking spines, distinguished within its genus by its nearly cylindrical and branched stem structure. Articulated cylindrical stems 10-15 cm long, segments 1-2 cm, arranged openly and branched. Bright green coloration with slight yellowish hues under full sun, showing minimal seasonal color variation.
Full direct sunlight exposure; reduced watering from autumn to spring, frequent in summer. Substrate with at least 70% well-draining mineral content. Minimum tolerance around 10 °C; susceptible to waterlogging causing tissue necrosis.
