Native to the eastern coastal regions of South Africa, Haworthia cymbiformis thrives on rocky, sandy slopes with well-drained soils. It is a perennial, polycarpic succulent featuring translucent leaves that enhance photosynthesis under low light, an uncommon trait within its genus. Leaves boat-shaped (cymbiform), 15-25 mm thick, arranged in a compact rosette with apical translucency, 3-6 cm long, bright green with seasonal gray-green hues.
Provide filtered light; avoid intense direct sun. Water sparingly in winter, increase frequency during summer growth. Use substrate with at least 70% coarse sand and gravel. Minimum temperature 5°C. Susceptible to root rot from waterlogging.
