Native to the rocky calcareous slopes of South Africa, Huernia zebrina is a polycarpic succulent with segmented stems 2-3 cm thick. It features star-shaped flowers with striped margins, a distinctive trait within the Huernia genus. Segmented cylindrical stems 2-3 cm thick, loosely arranged. Star-shaped flowers 4-5 cm wide with yellowish-red striped margins, slightly pubescent surface. Stem color is gray-green with minimal seasonal variation.
Requires at least 4 hours of direct sunlight daily. Watering confined to spring and summer, avoiding waterlogging. Substrate composed of at least 70% mineral, well-draining material. Minimum temperature 8°C; root rot risk under excessive moisture.
