Kalanchoe humilis originates from the mountainous areas of South Africa, favoring calcareous rocky soils with high drainage. It is a polycarpic species with repeated flowering cycles, notable within the genus for glandular hairs on its leaves, an uncommon trait among Kalanchoe. Leaves spatulate, 5-8 cm long, arranged in open rosettes; surface green-gray with prominent glandular hairs, darker hues during winter. Entire margins, slightly succulent but thin texture.
Full sun exposure for at least 6 hours; reduced watering from October to March, increased in spring; substrate with at least 70% mineral content (coarse sand, pumice); minimum temperature 41°F (5°C); avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot.
