Native to Madagascar, Kalanchoe katapifa tarantula inhabits limestone rocky slopes under full sun exposure. It is a polycarpic species with prolific flowering in spring and summer. Notably, its deeply lobed leaves are an unusual characteristic within the Kalanchoe genus. Spatulate leaves with deep irregular lobes, 6-9 cm long, arranged in an open rosette. Light green coloration with reddish margins intensified by full sun exposure.

Requires minimum 6 hours of direct full sun daily. Water sparingly from October to March, increase frequency April to September. Substrate with at least 70% mineral drainage. Minimum temperature 8 °C. Prolonged waterlogging causes root rot.
