Native to the mountainous limestone outcrops of Madagascar, Kalanchoe thyrsifolia oricola exhibits slow growth and intermittent flowering cycles. It is a polycarpic species adapted to high solar radiation on exposed rocky substrates. Leaves spatulate, 4-6 cm wide, arranged in an open rosette; matte surface with subtly undulated margins. Grey-green coloration with silvery hues intensified under strong light exposure.
Full sun exposure for a minimum of 6 hours daily. Watering reduced from autumn to spring, increased during summer. Substrate composed of at least 70% mineral material, well-draining. Minimum temperature 8°C; prolonged waterlogging causes root rot.
