Native to the mountainous regions of Madagascar, Kalanchoe tomentosa 'Choccalatesoldier' thrives on well-drained rocky substrates. It is a polycarpic species featuring tomentose leaves with a distinctive dark brown pigmentation uncommon within the genus. Spatulate leaves 5-8 cm long arranged in an open rosette, tomentose with intense dark brown margins; leaf color shifts from grey-green to light brown depending on light exposure.
