Kalanchoe tomentosa Teddy Bear hails from the rocky slopes of Madagascar's highlands. This polycarpic species features densely tomentose leaves, an uncommon trait in its genus, which minimizes water loss and shields from intense UV radiation. Leaves ovate-spatulate, 5-7 cm long, arranged in compact rosettes; surface covered with gray-green tomentum and brown-edged margins, which deepen under full sun exposure.
Provide at least 6 hours of direct full sun; irrigate from spring to early autumn, preventing waterlogging; use substrate with at least 70% mineral content and excellent drainage; minimum temperature 8°C; prone to root rot if overwatered.
