Lapidaria margaretae is a succulent native to South Africa, found predominantly on granite rocky slopes. It is a monocarpic species that flowers yellow before senescence. Unlike related genera, it features thick, flattened leaves arranged in opposite pairs rather than rosettes. Opposite, thick, flattened leaves measuring 1-2 cm long and 0.8-1.2 cm wide, green-gray with reddish tinges under full sun. Compact, symmetrical arrangement with slightly serrated margins.
Requires at least 5 hours of direct full sun daily. Water only during spring growth phase, avoiding waterlogging. Use substrate with minimum 70% mineral content and excellent drainage. Minimum temperature 5°C. Root rot risk if overwatered.
