Lithops species originate from semi-arid sandy and gravelly soils in South Africa. They exhibit a monocarpic life cycle with autumn flowering. Their bifurcated leaf structure mimics stones, a distinctive adaptation within the genus. Succulent leaves divided into two lobes, flat or slightly convex, 1-3 cm wide, color ranges from gray to olive green with dark spots varying seasonally.
Full direct sunlight exposure for minimum 4 hours; watering restricted to end of growth cycle; substrate with at least 70% mineral drainage; minimum temperature 5°C; avoid waterlogging to prevent rot.
