Mammillaria microhelia is native to central Mexico, inhabiting southeast-facing limestone slopes. It is a polycarpic species with globose stems measuring 3-5 cm in diameter. Notably, it features slender, numerous radial spines longer than typical for the genus. Globose stems 3-5 cm, conical tubercles arranged spirally, slender radial spines 10-15 mm, light green color with slight variation depending on light intensity.
Full direct sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Reduced watering from October to March, frequent from April to September. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content (pumice, scoria). Minimum temperature 5°C. Prolonged waterlogging causes root rot.
