Peperomia graveolens hails from Ecuadorian montane forests, colonizing moist, moss-covered rocks between 1200 and 1800 meters altitude. It exhibits a polycarpic growth habit with a bushy structure. Uniquely, its leaves display a red abaxial surface uncommon among Peperomia species. Leaves ovate, 5-7 cm long, arranged in a dense apical rosette; adaxial surface dark green, abaxial bright red; margins subtly undulate. Vertical growth reaching 30 cm.
Requires bright filtered light, avoiding direct sun; watering reduced from autumn to spring; substrate with minimum 70% pumice; minimum temperature 12 °C; root rot risk from waterlogging.
