Rebutia krainziana is native to the mountainous calcareous slopes of Bolivia at elevations between 2500 and 3200 meters. It is a polycarpic species forming dense clusters of globose stems, notable for its dense spination and prolific spring flowering. Globose stems 3-5 cm diameter, featuring 12-15 sharp ribs. Radial spines white, rigid, 5-8 mm long; 2-4 darker central spines per areole. Intense green coloration with bluish hues under full sun exposure.
Provide at least 6 hours of direct full sun daily. Water exclusively in spring and summer, allowing complete drying of substrate between irrigations. Use substrate with minimum 70% mineral content (pumice, lapilli). Minimum temperature 5°C; prone to root rot from waterlogging.
