Rhipsalis burchellii is an epiphytic species native to the humid forests of southeastern Brazil, typically found on limestone rocks and tree bark in partial shade. It is polycarpic with slender, spineless branches, an unusual trait within the Rhipsalis genus, which commonly exhibits spines or thorns. Stems cylindrical, slender (2-3 mm diameter), irregularly and openly branched. Length up to 30 cm. Uniform light green color without marked seasonal variation. Completely spineless.
Partial shade exposure, avoiding intense direct sunlight. Reduced watering from autumn to spring, frequent in summer. Substrate with at least 70% draining mineral content. Minimum temperature 10°C. Susceptible to root rot from waterlogging.
