Native to Brazil's rainforest canopy, Rhipsalis cassutha thrives epiphytically on tree trunks in shaded, humid habitats. It is a polycarpic species with spineless cylindrical stems, an uncommon trait within the Rhipsalis genus. Segmented cylindrical stems up to 30 cm long, spineless, smooth surface, light green color shifting to yellow under strong light exposure.
Place in partial shade; water sparingly during winter, increase slightly in summer; substrate with minimum 70% mineral content for drainage; minimum temperature 10°C; prevent waterlogging to avoid root rot.
