Sansevieria pinguicula is native to Kenya's mountainous regions, inhabiting basaltic rocky slopes at 1200-1800 m elevation. It is a slow-growing perennial with irregular flowering cycles. Unlike other Sansevieria, it has broader, thick leaves with subtly undulated margins. Leaves linear-spatulate, 3-5 cm wide, arranged in a compact rosette, up to 30 cm long. Dark green with gray-silver spots, coloration intensity changes with light exposure.
Needs bright filtered light, avoid more than 4 hours of direct sun. Water sparingly in winter, increase frequency in summer with substrate containing at least 70% mineral components. Minimum temperature 10 °C. Highly susceptible to waterlogging; ensure excellent drainage.
