Sedum adolphii Firestorm originates from mountainous areas in Mexico, typically growing on calcareous rocky slopes at 1500-2000 m elevation. It is a polycarpic species with a bushy growth habit and exhibits strong anthocyanin pigmentation under high solar exposure, an uncommon trait within the genus. Leaves spatulate, 3-4 cm long, arranged in compact rosettes with slightly serrated margins. Color shifts from lime green to intense orange under light stress, with pronounced red tips in autumn.
Needs full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Water sparingly from October to March; increase frequency in summer only if substrate is dry. Substrate must contain at least 70% draining mineral material. Minimum temperature 5 °C; vulnerable to prolonged waterlogging.
