Sedum pachyphyllum, native to Mexico, inhabits calcareous rocky slopes at elevations between 1500 and 2500 meters. It is a clump-forming polycarpic species with cylindrical succulent leaves, distinguishing it from other Sedum species that have flatter foliage. Leaves cylindrical, 2-3 cm long, arranged in compact rosettes; green-grey coloration with reddish tips intensified by strong sunlight exposure.
Full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily; reduced watering during winter, increased in summer; substrate composed of at least 70% mineral, well-draining material; minimum temperature 5°C; prevent waterlogging to avoid root rot.
