Sedum reflexum, native to mountainous areas of Central and Northern Europe, inhabits calcareous rocky slopes. This perennial polycarpic species is notable within its genus for its reflexed cylindrical leaves, which minimize water loss through evapotranspiration. Leaves are cylindrical, 1-2 cm long, arranged in open rosettes with downward-pointing tips. Color shifts from glaucous green to pale yellow in summer, intensifying during winter months.
Provide at least 6 hours of direct full sun daily. Water during spring and autumn only, preventing waterlogging; substrate should contain at least 70% mineral content. Minimum tolerated temperature is -10°C. Root rot risk increases in compacted soils.
