Sempervivum arachnoideum originates from the Alps and Carpathians, inhabiting calcareous rocky ridges at 1000-2500 m altitude. It is a polycarpic species forming dense rosette clusters. Unique within the genus, it produces dense white trichomes resembling spider webs. Rosettes 3-7 cm wide with spatulate leaves and slightly serrated margins. Dense white trichomes cover leaf surfaces, creating a spider web effect. Leaf color ranges from gray-green to reddish tips under thermal stress.
Full sun exposure with good airflow. Water sparingly from spring to late summer, no irrigation in winter. Substrate must contain at least 70% mineral components, well-drained. Minimum tolerance down to -15 °C. Avoid waterlogging to prevent leaf rot.
