Native to Sicily, Senecio mandraliscae inhabits calcareous, steep slopes with full sun exposure. It is a perennial, polycarpic species, notable within Senecio for its nearly tubular succulent leaves arranged in a dense cluster. Leaves cylindrical, 5-10 cm long, nearly round in cross-section, arranged in tight rosettes. Light green color with gray-blue hues, which deepen under higher light intensity.
Needs full sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Watering restricted to spring and autumn, avoiding waterlogging. Substrate composed of at least 70% mineral components for drainage. Minimum temperature 5°C; prone to root rot if overwatered.
