Sulcorebutia sunrise originates from rocky calcareous slopes in Bolivia at 2500-3000 m elevation. It is a polycarpic species with globose stems 3-5 cm wide, notable for deep ribs and prominent tubercles, distinguished by bright orange flowers emerging directly from areoles. Globose stem 3-5 cm, 10-12 ribs with regularly arranged conical tubercles. Light green color with reddish hues under full sun. Orange bell-shaped flowers 2-3 cm, emerging directly from areoles.
Full sun exposure to maintain reddish pigmentation. Watering reduced October to March, increased during active growth. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content, well-draining. Minimum temperature 5°C; sensitive to waterlogging causing root rot.
