tephrocactus articulatos

Thelocactus articulatus is native to northeastern Mexico, commonly found on calcareous soils and warm rocky outcrops. It exhibits a polycarpic growth with articulated stem segments aiding vegetative dispersal, an unusual characteristic within Thelocactus genus. Cylindrical stems up to 30 cm long, segmented into 5-7 cm sections with 8-10 prominent ribs. Radial spines number 10-15 per areole, thin, yellow-brown fading to lighter tones in winter.

Instructions de culture

Full direct sun exposure for minimum 6 hours daily. Water only during active growth, preventing waterlogging. Substrate with at least 70% mineral content, alkaline pH. Minimum temperature 5°C; prone to root rot if overwatered.
