Aloe squarrosa is endemic to Socotra Island, Yemen, typically found on low-altitude limestone rocky slopes. It features long, narrow, recurved leaves with dentate margins. The species is polycarpic and produces racemose inflorescences with tubular orange flowers. It is distinguished from Aloe juvenna by leaf shape and arrangement. Leaves 30-40 cm long, narrow, fleshy, recurved with dentate margins and smooth surface. Clumping habit with leaves arranged in an open rosette. Racemose inflorescence with tubular orange flowers about 3 cm long.
Prefers full sun or bright partial shade. Well-draining substrate with mineral content. Water moderately, allowing soil to dry between irrigations. Sensitive to frost; minimum temperatures above 5°C recommended.
