Echeveria derembergii originates from mountainous regions of Mexico, commonly found on calcareous rocky slopes between 1500 and 2200 meters elevation. It is a polycarpic species with a shrubby growth habit, unique within the genus for its tolerance to alkaline soils and leaves featuring subtly crenate margins. Leaves spatulate, 4-6 cm long, arranged in a compact rosette with crenate margins and smooth surface. Green-grey coloration with violet hues under water stress or strong light exposure.
Full sun exposure for a minimum of 6 hours daily. Reduced watering from October to March, increased during spring-summer. Substrate with at least 70% well-draining mineral content. Minimum temperature 5 °C; prone to damage from prolonged waterlogging.
