Echeveria mexicano originates from rocky slopes in central Mexico, favoring volcanic, well-drained soils. It exhibits a clumping, polycarpic growth habit with notable seasonal color shifts, an uncommon trait within the genus. Leaves spatulate, 3-5 cm wide, arranged in a compact rosette with slightly undulated margins. Olive green turning reddish-brown in winter, covered by a waxy epidermis.
Full sun exposure for a minimum of 6 hours daily. Watering reduced from October to March, substrate containing at least 70% mineral content. Minimum temperature 5°C; prolonged waterlogging causes rot.
